What we train
Training is delivered at the Kisumu WASH Technology Hub and covers three pit-emptying technologies used by sanitation service providers across the region:
- PuPu Pump: a portable, compressor-powered pump for emptying pits at a distance from the latrine.
- Gulper: a manually operated pump designed for emptying wet or partially wet pit latrines.
- PitVaq: a portable vacuum suction machine for emptying pits that vacuum trucks cannot reach.
Training focuses on safety, dignity and service quality, so operators can offer a more professional emptying service to the communities they work in.
